The largest sporting event worldwide was happening in Doha, Qatar, and as a new media artist, I was captivated by the idea of using AI-generated art to capture the essence of the World Cup 2022 in Doha. I wanted to explore how AI could convey the event’s excitement, anticipation and celebratory spirit. Tools like Midjourney and Procreate offer a fantastic platform for creating unique and visually stunning artwork. Their output serves as initial sketches for the artist’s ideas, which can be further developed.

We can blend traditional and innovative artistic approaches by integrating AI-generated art into the documentation process. This results in a captivating portrayal of the vibrant atmosphere on Doha’s streets during the tournament, providing a distinct glimpse into the energy, passion and unity surrounding such a global sporting event. These tools are still evolving, raising questions about their future and ethical implications. The innovation of AI in relation to art has sparked my interest in initiating a conversation and creating a space for these discussions to thrive.
