The chosen Liwan members who participated in this residency were architect Abdulla Al Obaidly, multidisciplinary designer Asma Shalkame and Noora Al Henzab, a Photographer and Multidisciplinary Designer. The Designers were encouraged to rely on locally sourced materials and on production and prototyping facilities in Qatar, with a focus on four key materials: wood, upholstery, glass, and metal. Through close mentorship from FROMM.lab, each designer received structured guidance in concept development, design refinement and hands-on prototyping, with direct exposure to industrial processes and suppliers. The resulting design outcomes reflected processes of material exploration and innovation.
