Abdul Rahman Anwar and Shawky Abdalla are multidisciplinary designers and MFA candidates at VCUarts Qatar. In 2024, Shawky received the Cairo Design Award in Jewellery Design through The Narrative Collective, a design initiative he founded.
That same year, Abdul Rahman contributed to Beneath the Rubble, Dreams Persist, an exhibition developed in collaboration with senior students at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar. He has also curated exhibitions including Modern Prayer Rug (2017) and Soujud (2018).
Their collaborative practice brings together material experimentation, sensory experience, and spirituality, exploring how material and form can embody memory, ritual, and devotion.
